About Hunã

Hidden beneath the hum of Echelon Kitchen & Bar lies Hunã — a modern reimagining of the tiki tradition. Designed as an escape from the everyday, Hunã invites guests to descend into another world — lush, glowing, and untethered by time.

Located at 200 S Main St, Ann Arbor, MI 48104, Hunã operates as a bar serving Ann Arbor in Michigan. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

The business lists hours on 3 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 7 pm–1 am. Note that it does not open on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Hunã at (734) 469-3799; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, huna.bar.

Customers rate it 4.5 out of 5 on Google across 152 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded bars & pubs in Ann Arbor.

Ann Arbor is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Ann Arbor follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

First visit, absolute vibe. Want to escape to an island paradise and forget your in Michigan? Try Huna. Unsure what to drink or eat? Ask Cohen, he’s a bar back for now but he knows his stuff. Would love to see him on bar- great place will be back

Such a great experience! Luka was so great at accommodating my needs and providing recommendations that respected my food and drink sensitivities. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and will definitely return.

Waited in line to get in, hoping to have a good experience. Our server was polite but didn’t really come back to the table. The drinks were VERY sub par, especially for the price. While I understand one of the drinks ordered has the intention of being strong, it didn’t taste anything like the ingredients listed on the menu. The pina colada was also very mid, not worth the money for a very sub par drink. Don’t get the zombie. It was awful. I am a bartender and the fact that someone let that past the bar is hilarious. Front of house was actively making fun of guests waiting outside the door when we were leaving. If you’re going to have an establishment that has a line out the door, make it something worth waiting for. Most bland bar experience I’ve ever had. I would not recommend this place at all.absolutely would not go back.

Once we got past the wait, the experience was lovely. Luca did a great job at answering our questions, accommodating the group and we had a wonderful time. Having 15 people come in and out can be stressful but he made sure everyone always had a drink and we were able to pay individually. While I didn’t love the 22% added to an already expensive cocktail, I did appreciate that it was mentioned every time someone paid and is noted on the menu.

My husband and I were SO excited when we heard one of our favorite restaurants was opening a tiki bar! We love tiki bars and knew Echelon would bring their top-notch food, drinks, and service. We were impressed from our first step inside! From the staircase to the bar to even the bathrooms, everything feels like a classy, vintage tropical escape. We grabbed seats at the gorgeous long bar and kicked off our mini-vacay. The bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable (especially Will), and the drinks were expertly crafted with quality ingredients and fun garnishes. My favorite was their Mai Tai with passionfruit foam, and my husband loved the Thunderbird. We ordered galbi ribs, coconut shrimp, and poke for dinner. We’d probably skip the ribs next time (small for the price), but we’re definitely trying the bao buns after hearing others rave about them. Our dessert -chocolate and coconut - was delicious. We can’t wait to go back - next time with friends for the High Tides bowl and Octo-shotski!
